MEET DES & TELKA

Des has grown up in the Territory, and lived and worked in the Katherine area for 35 years. He has an education background and also worked on Roper Valley Station (This is the neibouring Station 145km away!) as a ringer.

Telka grew up in Tasmania and moved up to the Territory. She is currently the principal at the local school. We have set up our stockcamp and caravan park out of a love for the country and a desire to share it with visitors to Mataranka.

THE STOCKCAMP

The Stockcamp offers visitors camping and caravan sites with a taste of the Territory. We offer a variety of dinners during the week - check out the dinners page for more information. We also crank up the ovens early in the morning, so if you're quick you can get your hands on a freshly baked loaf of bread. Enjoy an afternoon bevvy round the communal campfire. Come and get a photo with Big Bull and Elsey, or meet our buffaloes (Bubblegum, Bubby Jnr and Mad Mullet). There are also chooks, a pig, snakes, lizards and a rabbit.

Don't forget before you leave, to come have a cup of tea and a johnny cake with us at our morning smoko.
